Frequently Asked Questions

When and how should I pay?

Once we've decided on a date, you can book your session completely online. Your session retainer is due at the time of booking and goes towards the price of your overall session. An invoice for the remainder of your session fee will be sent out about 5 days before you session. Payments can be made via credit card, Paypal and check.

Do you accept tips?

Well how thoughtful of you! While tips and thank you gifts are not in any way required, they certainly are appreciated! I work very hard at creating a unique experience for each and every one of your sessions with Meg Miller Photography, and that means a lot of behind the scenes effort! If you enjoyed yourself, and you would like to express your appreciation, feel free! Quite a few of my clients show their gratitude through either tips, small thank you gifts, or simply a well written review.

What happens if it is raining?

I do a last check in a few days before your session, so if rain is in the forecast, we start talking about what to do next. You should have my cell phone ready the day of the shoot, and make sure I have your cell phone, too. I like to wait until the day itself to make a final decision on rescheduling because weather is so fickle and always changes. I will photograph you on overcast days, and don’t reschedule for clouds, but will for rain.

Do you provide digital images?

Sure do! Your session fee includes the on location session experience, usually around an hour and all the high resolution digital files from your gallery to keep for life and print and use as you see fit. Mini Sessions are slightly different and include a few digitals with the option to purchase more.

When and how will I get my photos?

Your online, password protected gallery will be available within 2 weeks of your session unless you are informed otherwise in advance.

Do you offer gift certificates?

You betcha! You choose the dollar amount and they choose the session they most desire! Upcoming baby shower and don’t want to give the same gift as everyone else? Have a few girlfriends go in on a unique newborn or maternity session! Parents’ 50th anniversary? Gift certificate for a family session! Holiday gift for the guy/gal that has it all? Got it covered. Have questions? Just email or call me! (All gift certificates expire 1 year after purchase. Gift certificates are non-refundable and non-transferrable.)

What if I'm awkward? Or if I'm feeling a little overweight?

There is no time like now to photograph you and your loved ones! I will help you feel your best, and help you pose and take photos at flattering angles for you. The session will be so fun and full of love that you will hopefully let all those fears and worries go. Don’t think it matters if you are in the picture? Try again, trust me, it does. Read this amazing article about how self-esteem can be boosted by showing family photos in your own home.  Have ever you lost someone you loved? What do you remember about them? What memories do you have? How do you tell their stories to your loved ones who may not remember them? Pictures are a great starting point.

What about children that just won't smile... or worse yet-won't LISTEN to me?

I have 3 children. I get it. Everyone is dressed. YOU'RE dressed. You even got your HUSBAND dressed. And NOW you're worried that someone will be cranky or not behave or... just be kids. Please don't stress. Like I said, I have 3 kids. I am a teacher. I know kids. I love kids and ALL that they bring. I haven't had a little one yet, that I haven't been able to connect with.

Professional photography can bring up many questions. If you don’t see your answer here, please feel free to call me any time! If I don’t answer… please leave a message.

Cheers,

Meg
